Save Churni,Clean Ganga initiative by Ranaghat Ambedkar NGO,West Bengal
The pollution issue of the river CHURNI is a longstanding issue and recently it has taken a disproportionate shape due to the increase of discharge of chemical pollutants by the factories in our neighboring country Bangladesh. This is the main reason of Pollution in the river CHURNI. Apart from industrial wastes, unmanaged hospital wastes including seriously poisonous and infective materials are having ultimate disposal in the river. Excreta and dead animal bodies are also responsible for polluting the river. Chemical fertilizers and Pesticides used in agriculture are partially carried by rainwater and flood flushes to the river causing huge contamination. Municipal house hold and city drainage of toilet wastes are being poured into the river. The household washing and throwing garbage's by the inhabitants living by the side of the river are regular features which creates Pollution to the river. The initiative taken by NGO "Ranaghat Ambedkar SCST Dev. Society” to address the issue. During the last one year the organization has tried to create awareness among people living beside the watershed of the river. Water resource development with HITWS, West Bengal
Halisahar Trade and Industrial Development Society work on Water resource management. The activity of planning, developing, distributing and managing the optimum use of water resources. Ideally, water resource management planning has regard to all the competing demands for water and seeks to allocate water on an equitable basis to satisfy all uses and demands. Much of the water diverted from streams and reservoirs, or pumped from aquifers, worldwide, is used in agriculture. And much of humanity earns its living through some connection with agriculture - either directly as a farmer or farm worker, or indirectly in one of the many endeavors that support farming activities. Water Transportation with ASHDA, West Bengal.
Water is the most common substance on earth. It covers more than 70 per cent of the earth's surface. It fills the oceans, rivers, and lakes, and is in the ground and in the air we breathe. Water is everywhere. Regardless of language or culture, all humans share this basic need that is essential for survival. Maintenance cost in rail and road transport is quite high but maintenance cost of water transport is quite less. The transport channel is quite cheap as compared rail and road Transport. Heavy and bulky goods can be transported easily at little cost through water transport. During natural calamities like flood and rains, when rail and road transport is disrupted, relief operations can be operated through water transport. Development of shipping is essential for the defense of the country also. It is also called second line of defense. Water transport plays important role in foreign trade. India’s foreign trade is mainly dependent on water transport. After people learned to build crude small boats, they began using rivers and lakes to carry themselves and their goods. Later, they built larger boats and sailed the ocean in search of new lands and new trade routes. Today, people still depend on water transportation to carry such heavy and bulky products as machinery, coal, grain, and oil. To view the high importance of the Water Transportation the Organization work on it and take some important initiative to the Govt and private sector units to run on it. The project of Water Transportation development and promotion of ASHDA duly associated with Pan India project YES.

Integrated project on Organic farming and reafforestation program for Madhya Pradesh state with the help of Women and Farmers was run by Comptech Education Society. With the significant shift towards minerals-based farming in late sixties, India ushered into the Green Revolution, which initially paid rich dividends in terms of higher productivity and pulled the country out of the fear psychosis of food insecurity for the burgeoning Indian population. However, in the long run, it brought in its wake a very negative cascading impact on our ecological plateau to wit, degradation of soil health, gradual low yields, emergence of new pests/diseases, wiping out of eco-friendly micro organisms and percolation of toxic chemicals into our food chain threatening the very existence of our biosphere. Taking note of the adverse consequences of chemical based farming, Comptech Education Society launched a district level Project on Organic Farming. The programs of Comptech Education Society on Organic Farming duly associated with Pan India level Project YES.
